For more than 30 hours, the Metropolitan Opera in New York was subject to a cyberattack that had an impact on its website, ticket office, and call center. This made it impossible for the venue to sell tickets. The New York Metropolitan Opera reportedly suffered a hack that rendered its ticketing system inoperable. The Met Opera typically manages $200,000 in daily sales. The incident happened on December 7th. On the website, it says "Our website, ticket office, and call center are all currently being impacted by network troubles. There won't be any rush tickets offered for this evening's show. I appreciate your endurance." Despite the fact that no additional tickets were sold for the next performances, "Aida" and "The Hours" went on as scheduled the following day. This includes the "Rush Ticketing" last-minute discount program. Metropolitan Opera Peter Gelb, the general manager, said. Nothing is functioning besides the stage and our singers. According to a report by Gothamist, the perpetrator of this attack is still at large, but the F.B.I. has already been made aware of the company's current predicament. However, due to the Met Opera's extremely constrained structure, exchanges and refunds are not permitted. Refunds and exchanges will only be handled by the institution after the regular business has resumed. Speculation is rife that Russia may have been behind this attack. especially considering how outspokenly the Met Opera has supported Ukraine during the Russian invasion. The institution only arranged a concert this year to support the initiatives in the nation. Prior to this, the business made the announcement that it would sever ties with entertainers and other organizations that had expressed support for the nation and the government.
