Tesla Autopilot Steering Wheel "Nag" Disable Option Will Finally Be Available This January, Elon Musk Announced. A new Autopilot update is reportedly due this month, according to Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk. The Tesla Autopilot currently nags users with a notification that reads, "provide slight turning power to the steering wheel," according to a recent report. According to Tesla North, it should make it easier for drivers to focus on the road. Additionally, it keeps drivers aware because they occasionally need to "use minor turning force." "Autosteer requires you to hold the steering wheel," according to Tesla. The following message is displayed and a flashing blue light appears at the top of the car status part of the touchscreen as a result, "if it does not detect your hands on the steering wheel for a period of time." However, some Tesla owners have managed to get around the annoying notice. According to reports, some Autopilot users purchased "defeat devices" to get around it. It's important to note that the automaker does not currently offer a way to turn off the "nagging" feature. This time, the Musk-led EV manufacturer intends to develop a new option that completely disables the Autopilot "nag." Additionally, the EU has threatened sanctions against Elon Musk's Twitter following the suspension of journalists. "Users with more than 10,000 miles on FSD Beta should be given the choice to turn off the steering wheel nag," said Whole Mars Catalog, a Twitter user. Musk, the Chief Tweeter, is mentioned in a recent tweet that was sent on the final day of 2022. The Tesla CEO then accepted the recommendation with open arms. The CEO claims that an update with a switch to disable the "nag" on the steering wheel would be released this month.
