The steering wheel of the electric SUV suddenly fell free while we were driving home on the highway after visiting a mall. He was able to halt his Tesla Model Y on the side of the road safely because of the traffic circumstances. Fortunately, there were no mishaps and no injuries sustained during the episode. The owner, however, was shocked when his service center presented him with a US$104 repair fee rather than correcting his Tesla Model Y's evident manufacturing issue under warranty and without charge. The American automaker initially canceled the repair costs only after multiple media sites covered this bizarre circumstance, and it has since extended an even more benevolent offer to the disappointed family while clarifying that it is merely acting out of goodwill and does not accept any responsibility. In any case, the business appears to have purchased the problematic Tesla Model Y back and will provide the family a loaner car until their new car is delivered.
