The least expensive Samsung Galaxy S23 model will launch with outdated storage technology

While LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage are anticipated for the Galaxy S23 series, it looks the least expensive model will have less capacity, possibly indicating Samsung's intention to concentrate on 256 GB and higher storage in the future. The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is anticipated to include improved storage and memory technology, as was previously reported. While the majority of the phones in the lineup will include UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, which provide top-notch performance, it appears Samsung is planning to undercut one model in the series. The same goes for UFS 4.0 storage, with one major exception, which should be present across the board. According to rumors, the standard Galaxy S23 128 GB variant will come with UFS 3.1 storage. That's hardly a downgrade, but it keeps with Samsung's recent practice of treating the basic Galaxy S series phones as if they were second-class citizens. For instance, slower charging and plastic backs were issues with earlier models. In any case, it's crucial to remember that the 256/512 GB versions of the standard S23 appear to be set to use UFS 4.0 storage like the rest of the range. It is likely that Samsung just decided not to produce 128 GB UFS 4.0 modules as the S23+ and S23 Ultra won't have 128 GB of storage. According to reports, Kioxia from Japan is the only company currently making 128 GB UFS 4.0 storage devices, despite the fact that they perform about as well in practice as Samsung's UFS 3.1 modules.
