Twitter's Bird Statue Currently Up For Auction

A statue with Twitter's recognizable bird logo can be the ideal choice for a dramatic focal point in your living room or den. The social network business is selling the statue of the bird at auction, along with a ton of other equipment, from its San Francisco offices. Elon Musk has prioritized simplifying the business since acquiring Twitter in October 2022, firing roughly half of the workforce and taking other actions like removing free dinners for the remaining employees. [caption id="attachment_82213" align="alignright" width="1200"]Twitter’s bird statue Twitter[/caption] There are 631 pieces in the auction, which closes late on Wednesday, including workstations, shelving units, and chairs (there are a lot of chairs). Additionally, there is a ton of office supplies. For instance, the various laser projectors start at roughly $1,300. Other deals include 58 Apple MagSafe power adapters ($2,200), Google 55-inch Jamboard Whiteboard Displays ($600), and a soundproof office phone booth ($3,700), which is ideal for loud offices. But the sink that Musk was spotted bringing into Twitter's headquarters just before finalizing the acquisition last year is nowhere to be found. The kitchen is being cleaned out as well now that the free meals are gone. Related lots include a Unic Tango Automatic Espresso Machine ($3,3000), a CoolShack Electric Smoker ($650), a Steam Jacketed Tilting Kettle ($1,050), and a Montague Gas Deck-type Pizza Bake Oven ($2,600), among many other items. 46 cases of KN95 protection masks are also included in the sale (current bid: $300). Nick Dove, a spokesman of Heritage Global Partners, argued that the auction wasn't an attempt to recoup some of the costs associated with Musk's $44 billion acquisition when it was first disclosed last month. However, you'll also discover a number of products that are specifically related to Twitter, such as the aforementioned bird statue (current bid: $16,000), a neon light Twitter bird display ($17,500), and a planter with a "@" sculpture (current bid: $6,250).
