A British millionaire City trader has been condemned to four years and eight months in prison in Italy for beating up his model ex-girlfriend and threatening to destroy her home.
Ajaz Shah Hussain, 38, also burnt his terrified Rania Baffoun, 28, with a hot iron on her face as 'punishment' during their 18-month turbulent relationship, the court heard.
One of the exhibits in the prosecution against him was the iron and vivid images of the injuries she suffered were revealed in court - however he claimed Rania had 'brushed against the iron' while he was using it.
Prosecutor Davide Ercolani recounted to the court in Rimini, Italy, how Hussain, who was the CEO of a foreign trading firm named Fortitude Capital, was arrested after police were called to Rania's flat.
Married father of two Hussain – who owns expensive properties in Knightsbridge and Milan – was held after driving to Rimini in his gold coloured UK registered £165,000 Lamborghini.
The court heard how witnesses reported how he was shouting and threatening to reveal a sex tape the couple had produced before trying to set fire to the car in January 2020.
