In a recent auction, a graded copy of "Pokemon FireRed" brought thousands of dollars after 21 bids. The sealed version of "Pokemon FireRed," a classic Game Boy game, also received a high Wata rating.
Auction for a graded "Pokemon FireRed" game
The massive Pokemon franchise is, without a doubt, one of the most popular video game series. Thus, a sealed copy of a Pokemon video game, launched several years ago, recently sold at auction for roughly more than $3,000.
In addition, the "Pokemon FireRed" game received an exceptional 9.6 grade, indicating that this copy is in excellent condition. Also, it took about 21 bids until the graded "Pokemon" title brought in a respectable $3,109.
Furthermore, according to a recent tweet from Go Collect, this is the first time the Wata 9.6 grade has been auctioned off. The graded comic sales tracking site also posted a picture of the Game Boy Advance version of the graded "Pokemon" game on its Twitter account. And judging by the appearance, it appears to be in excellent shape, considering that the game launched in 2004.
More graded Pokemon FireRed copies on sale
Most importantly, Go Collect also revealed that there are additional "FireRed" copies for sale elsewhere on the internet. For instance, another graded "Pokemon FireRed" is on sale on eBay, but it only has a Wata 8.5 grade. Additionally, it is reasonably priced compared to the Wata 9.6 copy. With around three days left before it closes, the starting bid is around $1,500. Also, eBay described the 8.5 Wata Certified copy as being in brand-new condition.
Moreover, there is also a listing of a WATA 9.4 graded "FireRed." But the asking price soars to a staggering $2,299. In addition, the listing's title makes clear that the copy is sealed and in pristine condition. Besides, while other entries are typically in the 8.5 Wata grade range, 9.4 ratings are still rare.
